When do Powerball drawings take place?

Powerball drawings are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. They take place in Tallahassee, Florida, at approximately 10:59 PM EST.

How can I play Powerball?

Entering Powerball can be done either by visiting an authorized lottery retailer or by ordering tickets online. You must choose five main numbers between 1 and 69, as well as one Powerball from 1 to 26.

What time do ticket sales close?

Ticket sales in Ohio close at 10:00 PM on the day of the draw. If you are ordering tickets online or playing out-of-state, the cut-off time may be different.

How much does a ticket cost?

One Powerball play costs $2. You need to pay an extra $1 if you want to add the Power Play option on your ticket.

Can I play Powerball in advance?

Yes, multi-draw tickets are allowed in Ohio. You can enter the same set of numbers for up to 10 consecutive drawings if you mark the “Multi-Draw” box.

What is the Power Play option?

By adding the Power Play extra feature to your Powerball ticket, you could increase your non-jackpot winnings by 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10 times. This option will cost you an extra $1. Find out more about how the Power Play option works on our How to Play page.

What is the minimum jackpot offered?

The minimum Powerball jackpot is $20 million and it rolls over until someone matches all the winning numbers.

Does Powerball have a rollover limit or jackpot cap?

No, the Powerball jackpot rolls over until it is won.

What is the biggest Powerball jackpot ever won?

The largest Powerball jackpot ever won was worth $2.04 billion. It was won on November 7, 2022 by a Californian player, Edwin Castro. Castro claimed the cash value option of $997 million.

In Ohio, the biggest Powerball jackpot was won on June 2, 2010 by a single ticket holder from Sunbury. The grand prize was worth $261.6 million and the winner claimed the cash lump sum of $134.9 million. The winner chose to remain anonymous.

What are the odds of winning a prize?
